BDA and OSHB distribute deed of lease to beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) distributed a “rental deed” to more than a hundred beneficiaries of different programs of these two organizations during a function jointly organized by BDA and OSHB held at Jaydev Bhawan in the state capital today.

A total of 121 lease deeds, of which 78 from BDA and 43 from OSHB were handed over to the beneficiaries. Each beneficiary received a plant with their title deed to encourage them to plant a tree and take care of it like a member of their family.

The decision to hand over the deed of lease to the beneficiaries was taken after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik exempted interest from six BDA projects and five housing projects in the amount of over 29.15 crore. Rupees, providing enormous relief to the beneficiaries.

Out of Rs 29.15 crore, the BDA exempted Rs 19, 20, 88,000 and the State Housing Board waived around Rs 9.94 crore with respect to the execution of the lease deed.

Pratap Jena, Minister of Panchayati Raj and Department of Drinking Water, Law, Housing and Urban Development, Government of Odisha, honored the occasion as the guest of honor.

“Up to 2,083 beneficiaries (1925 from OSHB and 878 from BDA) will benefit because they will get their rental deed of their properties in different housing programs. This became possible thanks to the visionary leadership of our Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his timely decision to waive interest to the tune of Rs 29.15 crore. In addition, our CM has made various services available to citizens online for a practical, efficient and transparent service delivery to the population, ”said the Minister.

Priyadarshi Mishra, chairman of the Odisha State Housing Council, also addressed the assembly and said the decision to relinquish the interests of the Chief Minister is historic and extremely beneficial for these BDA beneficiaries. and OSHB.

Speaking on the occasion, BDA Vice President Sanjay Kumar Singh said that BDA has recently taken several pro-citizen measures, including making almost all of its services available online for the benefit of people in the age of poverty. information technology.

“In accordance with the instructions of our Chief Minister, today we have organized a special program to issue a lease contract or title deed to several beneficiaries in six different housing programs. In addition to this, BDA is working swiftly to execute all pending leases and hand over to the respective beneficiaries.

Emphasizing the role of the BDA in providing affordable housing to eligible beneficiaries, the vice president said the authority has been working on several new projects and soon 1000 new housing units will be ready for which the award could. start from the end of January. The BDA is also building around 7,500 housing units under the Affordable Housing Project.

In the event, Singh urged people and beneficiaries to visit the unified portal to avail various services from BDA, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd (BSCL) related to property, payment detention tax, etc.
